Tires & Alignment

Alignment

A wheel alignment refers to the adjustment of a vehicles steering and suspension components which affect the angle at which the tires contact the road. Making sure that your wheel alignment is correct is one of the most important things you can do to properly care for your tires. A poorly aligned car will unevenly wear your tires. We have all the manufacturers specifications as well as all the tools and equipment to properly align your vehicle.

Here is a list of a few things which may be signs that you need a wheel alignment:

  • Steering wheel off centre
  • Uneven tire wear
  • Vehicle Pull

Wheel Balancing

Wheel balancing is the process of equalizing the weight of the combined tire and wheel assembly so that it spins smoothly when driving down the road. This is accomplished by putting the assembly on a machine that spins the wheel and determines where the weights should go. At high speeds even the slightest imbalance can translate into a vibration that is felt through the entire vehicle. At Roy Rump and Sons our tire technicians ensure each wheel is balanced correctly.

Tire Rotation

This is one of the most important things to do to prolong the life of your tires and ensure even wear. Tire rotation means periodically changing the position of each tire on the vehicle, from front to rear or side to side depending on the make and model. Your tires should be rotated as recommended by the manufacturer or every 8,000km to maximize tread life. At Roy Rump and Sons, you can count on our technicians to ensure your tire needs are being met at every level.
